Bridgett E. "Before MCC I was a social worker. I worked for Manatee County Head Start and had the real zeal to want to help people to just want to do a little bit more than what was available in social work and decided to go into the health care field. Went back to MCC, was afforded many opportunities and met several people who steered me in the right direction. It's wonderful how they selected these professors who are interested in the students and want to make sure that you get the best out of your education. You're just not a number in a seat. In our evening classes there were many people who were in the same boat as I was, we were working full time during the day and taking classes at night; and we became friends, we were like a big family because that's what you needed; and then you had those wonderful instructors there to kind of guide you the way that you needed to go which really helped us. Because of the education I received at MCC, I'm now able to move forward to get my masters degree. It's the ARMP in nursing and I will specialize in pediatrics at the University of South Florida." |
